| To be honest, there is not much old news to report that is recent. So I will give you the really old news and gossip!! | ||||||||
| April 14, 2000 A fan posting on newsroup.smithaus.au : "I was standing outside Oriflamme Towers last night and I saw Smitty playing bass through a fourth floor window. I'm pretty sure that's where the practice rooms are. Does anyone know if he is playing bass in Smithaus now?" There is no plan for Chris Smith to play bass in SmitHaus at this time. There is a rumor that he might be playing bass with Hex Lubinger in another project but that has not been confirmed. Lubinger was also spotted leaving Oriflamme Towers this morning. He was also spotted at KB's, a bar down the street from O.T. early last night. |

| April 13, 2000 It has been confirmed that Chris "Smitty" Smith is scheduled to again play the Orange Bear on April 20th. There has been no word on whether it will be just him or whether or not it will feature a full or partial band. News has leaked that Smitty is in talks with a new bass player to play on this project. There is no word on whether or not this bassist would be involved in Smithaus. SmitHaus members Chris Smith and Martin Small were seen with friend Hex Lubinger at CB's 313 Gallery on Tuesday night. The three were out to see Matt Nathanson, a West Coast singer/songwriter who is long time friends with Smith and Lubinger. There is a rumor that SmitHaus drummer, Brian Griffin has been checked in under court order to an upstate New York drug treatment facility. Yet again, this rumor is completely false. The hospital asks fans to stop sending flowers to the facility. There is another rumor being posted on the Internet that Mike Preis has left the band. This started when he was absent from the bands last performance. This is not true. Preis was stuck in Chicago as his flight was cancelled and was not able to meet the band in time. Another report stated that saxophonist Sam Albright was cursing Mike out when they met in New York a few days later. This is false. As is the rumor that the two are mortal enemies. In reality, they are musical soulmates who push each other to the edge. |
